Woman, 20s, arrested in connection with death of man in Kerry in May

A woman has been arrested after the death of a man in Kerry in May.Â
At approximately 12.30am on the morning of Monday, May 27, gardaà and Emergency services were alerted to an alleged assault in the Knockanure village area.Â
Arriving at the scene, the discovered a man with fatal suspected stab wounds.Â
He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was later removed to the mortuary at University Hospital Kerry for an autopsy.Â
The man was later named locally as 44-year-old Gerard Kennelly.
Two men, aged in their 20s and 30s, were arrested shortly after Mr Kennelly’s death.
One of the men, Kieran Brady, 35, of Athea in Co Limerick appeared before Listowel District Court on May 28 charged with the manslaughter of Mr Kennelly.
On Thursday, a woman in her 20s, was arrested in connection with the garda investigation into Mr Kennelly's death. Â
She is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a Garda Station in the Kerry Division.
