Jury records disagreement in trial of man accused of raping sleeping wife
a jury of seven men and five women heard the case at the Central Criminal Court sitting in Cork
A man was put on trial for raping his sleeping wife but he said it was a practice between them that one or other of them would initiate sexual intimacy when the other slept and that this was not unusual for them.
The complainant said that this only extended to kissing and cuddling and not to sexual intimacy or intercourse.
