An intoxicated man accused of putting his grandmother in fear by grabbing her phone and €60 cash from her hand claimed in court that she agreed to meet him and offered him a loan but she responded with “Oh my God!” to his claim.

Garda John Kerins objected to bail being granted to the accused man based on the seriousness of the allegations.
