A spokesman for An Garda Síochána said: 'Gardaí have charged a man following an assault in Clogheen, Co Tipperary, on 18th June, 2024.'

A community garda was almost killed when responding to a call on his own in Tipperary, it has been claimed in the Dáil.

The incident happened in Clogheen, Co Tipperary, last week. Tipperary TD Mattie McGrath told the Dáil the incident occurred when the garda had to respond to a call on his own.
