A middle-aged Waterford man got involved in a drunken incident in Cork City and shouted he was sick of Cork and wanted to go home.

He also told gardaí to “Get the f*** out of my way” during the incident.

As the disturbance at Cornmarket Street, Cork, went on, Thomas Stone, 57, shouted: “I’m sick of this f***ing place, I want to go back to Waterford.”

Frank Buttimer, solicitor, said the accused had difficulties in the past but was doing better now and living at Dominic’s Court, Bridge Street, Waterford.

The solicitor stressed the case dated back a long time to May 9, 2020.

Judge Mary Dorgan imposed a €200 fine on the accused for being drunk and a danger at the time and took a charge of threatening behaviour into consideration at Cork District Court.
