A young driver who sped away from gardaí at 200 km/h has been banned from driving by a judge in the district court.

Prosecuting Sergeant Linda O’Leary told Fermoy District Court that Connie Stokes, 18, of St Anthony’s Park, Hollyhill, Cork, was detected breaking the speed limit in a Volkswagen Passat on March 14, 2024, on the M8 motorway at Ballybeg, Mitchelstown, Co. Cork.
