A 29-year-old man who allegedly made off from Monkstown in Cork on a stolen electric bicycle with bottles of champagne and prosecco — and whose fingerprint cross-checked for 27 different names across the UK and Europe — was remanded in custody for a fortnight.

Sergeant GearĂłid Davis said the Director of Public Prosecutions had decided that it was a suitable case to be dealt with at Cork District Court level. However, Judge Mary Dorgan said on Tuesday that she was not deciding on jurisdiction until the accused man revealed his true identity.
