Woman, 80s, assaulted in Dundalk on May 3 dies in hospital

An elderly who was the victim of an assault in Co Louth earlier this month has died.
The woman, who was in her 80s, passed away at a hospital in Dublin on Monday, gardaí have confirmed.
She was the victim of an assault incident at the Glenwood Estate in Dundalk on Friday, May 3.
Two other women, one aged in her 40s and another in her 70s, were injured during the same incident.
A man appeared in court last week charged with assault causing harm to three women on May 3 at the Glenwood Estate.
Nicholas Muckian, 47, with an address at Glenwood in Dundalk, was further charged with unlawfully intimidating another person with a hatchet.
He was remanded in custody to appear before Dundalk District Court again on Wednesday, May 15.
