A man, aged in his 60s, was arrested after 139kg of cannabis herb, worth €2.7m, was discovered in Wexford on Thursday, as part of an operation involving gardaí and Revenue.

He is currently being held at a Garda station in the south east of the country, under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.

Separately, a man, aged in his 50s, was arrested following the seizure of 139kg of cannabis herb, worth €900,000 in Dublin.

He is being held at a Garda station in west Dublin, also under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.

All of the drugs seized are now subject to further analysis.
