Cork boy punched in the mouth after man took €7 from him
The judge imposed a total sentence of two years with the second year suspended. That one-year sentence is to run consecutively to a longer sentence already being served by the accused for other crimes.
A 14-year-old boy who was frightened by a 23-year-old man into giving him all the cash in his pocket — no more than €7 — was then punched in the mouth as his ‘thanks’, a judge said as he jailed the culprit.
Detective Garda Alan Johnson outlined the background to the offences that included robbery of the 14-year-old in Ballincollig.
