A man has been arrested after officers at Dublin Airport seized a large amount of cannabis on Wednesday.

With the assistance of detector dog Sam, officers found over 14.2kgs of herbal cannabis with an estimated value of €285,000.

The drugs were discovered concealed in vacuum-packed packages within a passenger's luggage.

The flight had arrived at Dublin Airport from Spain.

A man, aged in his 40s, was arrested by gardaí and has since been charged. He is due to appear before the courts on Friday.
