Cocaine with a street value of €8,000 was found concealed in a baby's nappy, the court was told.

A Mallow woman working as a drugs mule, who concealed over €8,000 worth of cocaine in a baby’s nappy, has been jailed for 18 months as the sentencing judge ruled that she was a vital cog in an industry that wreaks havoc on society.

At Cork Circuit Criminal Court, Judge John Martin sentenced 40-year-old Fiona Twomey, of Rathcoole, Mallow, Co Cork, to two years imprisonment with the last six months suspended.
