Two young teenage sisters were sexually assaulted by their drunken uncle shortly after their return home from school and one victim only managed to protect herself and her sister by picking up a golf club and threatening to hit their attacker with it.

This evidence was heard last November by Judge James McCourt and a jury at Cork Circuit Criminal Court.
