Cork teenager who broke into car and then fled from gardaí sent to prison

Michael Harrington, of 10 Ravensdale Road, Mahon, Cork, pleaded guilty to the unlawful interference with the car, theft and related offences that date back to October 23, 2023, at Ursuline’s Road, Blackrock, Cork.

A Mahon teenager climbed out the window of a Honda Fit and fled from gardaí with the ignition barrel of the car in his hand — and he was later caught hiding behind another car.

Arrested and taken into custody on the night, he was granted bail three days later but repeatedly breached bail conditions and on March 12 he was arrested at his home, where gardaí found him hiding behind a wardrobe.
