A Corkman charged with setting fire to a house in Cork City where four people were celebrating Christmas Day allegedly wedged a plank of wood into the front door way to barricade them in and stood outside swinging a blade when the first person ran from the burning building.

This man was allegedly told by the accused: “You are going to die here tonight.”
