Woman sexually assaulted as she slept tells court it was 'every girl's worst nightmare'

Accused, who reached over another person in the bed to assault victim as she slept, jailed for four and a half years

A woman who was sexually assaulted after a night out which ended with her falling asleep in a bed with three men said that the sexual assault was “every girl’s worst nightmare”.

The student who put his fingers in her vagina as she slept — reaching over another man, the victim's friend, to do so — was sentenced to four and a half years in jail with the last year suspended by Judge Helen Boyle at Cork Circuit Criminal Court on Friday.
