Two men are due in court on Tuesday, in connection with the murder of Kieran Quilligan whose remains were found in East Cork last week.

A man aged in his 20s and another aged in his 30s, arrested in recent days as part of this investigation, are expected to appear before a sitting of Cork District Court at Anglesea Street Courthouse on Tuesday morning, charged in connection with the case.

A murder investigation was launched following confirmation that the skeletal remains found dumped in a roadside ditch in East Cork were those of Kieran Quilligan.

A post-mortem confirmed that Mr Quilligan met a violent death.

The 47-year-old was last seen in Cork City on Friday, September 1 and was reported missing.
