Man, 20s, in serious condition following burglary in Dublin

A man, 20s was seriously assaulted during the incident and was taken to Beaumont Hospital for treatment of his injuries

A man in his 50s has been arrested in connection with aggravated burglary and assault in Dublin.

The incident occurred on Tuesday night at a residence on Kilbarron Road in Coolock. 

A man in his 20s was seriously assaulted during the incident and was taken to Beaumont Hospital for treatment of his injuries. His condition remains serious.

A lot of criminal damage was also done to the property.

The man arrested was held at a Garda station in north Dublin under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

He has since been charged and is due to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice this morning.
