Corkman lied to get passport for non-biological child

Court told accused provided false information to the Civil Registration Office because he 'felt sorry' for the non-national mother of the infant

A 64-year-old man who was not the father of a baby of a non-national woman in Cork falsely declared that he was the biological father in successful applications for a birth cert and a passport for the infant.

The beginning of the deception dates back more than 14 years, Cork District Court heard on Wednesday.
