A young man facing charges of travelling as a passenger in stolen cars that were allegedly involved in ramming garda cars two months ago urged a district court judge to strike out all charges against him.

While Sergeant Pat Lyons said the matters at the centre of the charges were serious and relatively recent, defence solicitor, Frank Buttimer, said he was instructed by defendant, Tony Caulfield of 221 Cathedral Road, Cork, to apply to have the charges struck out.
