Man arrested in connection with suspected Christmas Eve shooting in Dublin

A man has been arrested in connection with a suspected gang-related shooting incident in Dublin on Christmas Eve, leaving one dead and another seriously injured.
He is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, at a Garda Station in West Dublin.
The incident happened at Browne's Steakhouse in Blanchardstown, Dublin 15, at around 8.10pm on Christmas Eve.
Two men were taken to James Connolly Memorial Hospital to receive medical treatment in the wake of the attack.
One man, in his 20s, was pronounced dead in hospital a short time later.
It is understood gardaí are investigating whether the dead man was a participant in the initial attack and was tackled in the aftermath.
The second man, aged in his 40s, is receiving treatment for gunshot wounds. He remains in a critical condition in hospital.
Gardaí are in the process of gathering CCTV from inside the restaurant as part of their investigation into the incident.
"Investigations are ongoing," a Garda spokesperson said.
