Man accused of applying in Cork for passports in names of deceased babies awaits DPP directions

A 72-year-old American charged with providing false information to the passport office in Cork—previously referred to in court as Philip Morris and later identified as Randolph Kirk Parker as a result of garda enquiries with the FBI—was remanded in custody on Tuesday to January 2.
There was no further evidence from the Garda National Bureau of Criminal Investigation as directions are awaited from the Director of Public Prosecutions.
On the application of Sergeant Pat Lyons, Judge Mary Dorgan remanded the accused in custody for four weeks on Tuesday at Cork District Court. Defence solicitor Aoife Buttimer did not object to the prosecution application.
One charge states that on September 11 this year at the passport office on South Mall, Cork, he provided information or documents which were false or misleading, in connection with a passport application. There are two similar charges referring to an unknown date between September 12 and 25, 2012, at the Passport Office on South Mall, Cork, and the application for the issue of a passport, and one final, similar charge referring to a different date, June 7, 2022.
Randolph Kirk Parker is to appear in court again by video link from prison on January 2.
