Gardaí in Dublin are appealing for witnesses following the death of a man earlier this week.

A 50-year-old man was found unresponsive outside a house at Dromcarra Avenue in Tallaght at around 8pm on Wednesday evening.

Emergency services arrived a short time later and the man was treated at the scene but was pronounced dead a short time later.

An autopsy was carried out at the Dublin City Mortuary by Dr Robert Collis on Friday.

Following the results of the autopsy, the details of which are not being released, investigating Gardaí launched an appeal for witnesses.

Gardaí are investigating all of the circumstances surrounding the death of the man and an incident room has been established at Tallaght Garda Station.

A technical examination of the scene is continuing this evening.

Gardaí are looking to speak to anyone who was in the vicinity of Dromcarra Avenue, Jobstown between 5pm and 8.30pm on Wednesday, November 15.

Any person who may have video footage, including motorists with dash cam, from the Dromcarra, Kilclare, and Cheeverstown areas within the same time period is asked to make this available to Gardaí.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Tallaght Garda Station 01 666 6000 or the Garda Confidential line 1800 666 111.

The investigation is being led by a Senior Investigating Officer and a Garda Family Liaison Officer has been appointed to the family.
