Corkman caught with cannabis worth almost €400k jailed for three years

The court in Cork heard the selling of cannabis 'supports organised crime which is a scourge on society'.

A 37-year-old family man feeling a financial strain resorted to operating as a drugs courier on the promise of payment of €3,000 but he was caught carrying €394,000 worth of cannabis in his car and now he has been sentenced to three years in jail.

Kenneth O’Shea of Riverdowns, Ladysbridge, County Cork, had the commencement of his sentence deferred by Judge Colin Daly until January 30, 2024, for family reasons. The sentence is one of four years with the last year suspended.
