Early morning raids took place across Limerick on Tuesday following a number of shootings in the Hyde Road area, gardaí have confirmed.
The searches began in the early hours of Tuesday morning and involved members of the gardaí as well as the Emergency Response Unit.
The raids were carried out in at least three areas of the city, which resulted in the seizure of several scramblers, motorcycles, and a four-wheeled vehicle.
The move comes following several incidents in recent weeks between two drugs gangs.
A shooting took place on October 12 in Hyde Avenue which gardaí say resulted in minor damage to one house.
According to locals there has been a number of tit for tat incidents over the past few months as tensions have been growing in the area.
In a statement, gardaí told the they “can confirm a number of searches took place today in relation to organised criminal activity in the Limerick area".
The statement continued: “Investigations ongoing. No further information is available due to operational reasons”.
