Revenue officers seize 6.3 million cigarettes worth over €5m at Dublin Port

The discovery was made as a result of risk profiling and with the assistance of detector dog Waffle and Revenue’s mobile x-ray scanner

Revenue officers have seized 6.3 million cigarettes, with an estimated street value of over €5m at Dublin Port on Friday.

The cigarettes, branded  ‘Kingdom Light’, ‘Kingdom Black’ and ‘Williams’, represented a potential loss to the Exchequer of almost €3,932,000.
