Cork teen on stolen car charges was 26kms from home after ignoring curfew

Bail conditions required the teenagwr to sign on three times a week at his local garda station and keep a curfew. He failed to sign on 29 out of 40 times.

A Cork city teenager accused of driving a stolen car dangerously had failed to sign on at his local garda station 29 times and frequently ignored his curfew, getting arrested at 1.20am on Tuesday in Mourneabbey – 26 kilometres from his home.

Garda Graham McGuinness brought the arrested 17-year-old before Cork District Court today and objected to his bail continuing, pending his trial on October 6.
