The accused was employed to deliver post on a route on the southside of Cork City.

Sacks of undelivered mail were found at the back of a former postman’s house, it was alleged when he appeared before Cork District Court on a charge of failing to deliver post.

Judge Olann Kelleher remanded Stephen Hegarty on bail to appear again before the court on October 18. He was represented by solicitor, Frank Buttimer.
