Man, 20s, arrested following €60k cannabis seizure in Co. Laois

A second man arrested has been released without charge, and a file will now be prepared for the DPP

A man in his 20s, arrested following a €60,000 cannabis seizure in Laois, has been charged.

He is expected to appear before a sitting of Portlaoise District Court later this morning.

The cannabis herb was discovered after Gardaí stopped and searched a car during a routine patrol on the R445 near Emo on Tuesday.

Along with the cannabis, a quantity of cocaine worth in excess of €5,000 and a small amount of ecstasy were also seized.
