Drunken Cork man tried to get on bus with stolen keg of beer

The beer keg had been taken from Jacque’s restaurant in Cork city.

A judge had to double-check that he heard the evidence correctly when told that a drunken man tried to get on to a bus carrying a stolen keg of beer.

Sergeant John Kelleher confirmed for Judge Olann Kelleher that Alan McCarthy had in fact attempted to get on the bus with the keg of beer in Carrigaline, County Cork.
