A man from Afghanistan who now lives in Cork claimed he was beaten up by his two uncles and driven to Kennedy Quay in the dark and that it was only due to the intervention of “an Irish woman” that the incident was brought to an end.

The contested case was heard at Cork District Court, where the two accused denied the attack.
