Boy, 4, left alone in McDonalds as drunk father found asleep on floor of toilets

More than two years on from this incident the defendant has had no access to his son, court heard

Sergeant Gearóid Davis said the incident occurred at 5.30pm in the afternoon when it was noticed the defendant was highly intoxicated on the premises.

A four-year-old child was left alone in McDonald’s in Blackpool as his father was found asleep on the floor of the toilet in a highly intoxicated condition.

That was back in May 2019 at the fast-food outlet. Now at Cork District Court, the boy’s father has been prosecuted on a child neglect charge.
