A 62-year-old man brandishing a hatchet and a realistic imitation pump-action shotgun threatened to kill gardaí during a welfare check at his north Co Dublin home, a court heard.

Daniel O'Toole, of Baron's Hall Lodge, Balbriggan, Dublin, was arrested in the early hours of Friday morning.
