Man arrested following €40k cannabis seizure in Galway

Gardaí in Galway have seized €40,000 worth of suspected cannabis plant and herb following a search of a premises in the Ardrahan area.

During the search, which took place at 5.30pm on Friday evening, plants worth €20,000 and cannabis herb with a street value of €20,000 was discovered.

A man, 40s, was arrested at the scene and is being detained at Galway garda station.

He has since been charged and is due to appear before Galway District Court on Monday.

Investigations are ongoing.
