Three people have been arrested after gardaí pursued a stolen car on the M50 on Sunday evening.
The three people, two men in their 20s and a male teenager, were arrested after what was described as a “managed containment operation” in the Dublin area.
Shortly after 7pm on Sunday evening, gardaí from the DMR North, on mobile patrol as part of ongoing investigations into a series of burglaries and incidents of criminal damage in North Dublin, observed a vehicle with multiple occupants on Naul Road near Dublin Airport.
The vehicle failed to stop and was pursued by gardaí.
"A coordinated response was launched, involving several local and divisional garda units from across the DMR, including the Armed Support Unit (ASU) and air support," a garda spokesperson said.
The vehicle came to a stop on the M50 near Clondalkin, where the three people were subsequently arrested, the spokesperson said.
All three are currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at garda stations in North Dublin.
The vehicle, a VW Golf which had been reported stolen during a recent burglary in the Santry area, has been recovered and brought for technical examination.
No injuries were reported during this incident, the garda spokesperson said.
