Teenager hospitalised following Cork city assault

Gardaí are investigating the incident in Blackpool

A teenager has been taken to hospital for medical treatment following an assault in Cork city on Sunday night.

Gardaí and emergency services were called to the scene of an incident in Blackpool shortly after 9.15pm on Sunday.

A spokesperson for An Garda Síochána told the Irish Examiner that a male teenager was removed from the scene and was taken to Cork University Hospital (CUH) for treatment of injuries that are believed to be non-life threatening at this time.

“Investigations ongoing,” the spokesperson added.
