Man, 80s, dies after single-vehicle crash in Louth
The driver of the car involved, the man in his late 80s, was transported by ambulance to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, where he was later pronounced deceased.
A man in his 80s has died after a collision in Louth.
Gardaí and emergency services were called to the scene on the N33 at Cappocksgreen in Ardee shortly after 3pm on Thursday.
The driver of the car involved, the man in his late 80s, was transported by ambulance to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, where he was later pronounced deceased.
The coroner has been notified and a post-mortem examination will take place in due course.
The scene is currently sealed off while garda forensics investigate.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
A spokesperson said: "Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area at the time are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
