Woman in her 60s killed in truck and pedestrian collision in Swords

A woman in her 60s has died following a road traffic collision involving a truck in Swords, Co Dublin, on Tuesday afternoon.
GardaĂ and emergency services attended the scene at the junction of Church Road and Bridge Street shortly before 12.30pm, where the female pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her body has since been removed to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown, where a post-mortem examination will be carried out in due course.
The scene remains closed as Garda Forensic Collision Investigators conduct a technical examination, with local traffic diversions in place.
GardaĂ are appealing for witnesses to the collision and have issued a specific request for the driver of a small silver hatchback that was not involved in the incident.Â
The vehicle was travelling behind the truck on Church Road before turning left onto Rathbeale Road, away from Swords, at the time of the collision.
Road users who were in the area between 12.10pm and 12.40pm and who may have camera footage, including dash-cam recordings, are asked to make this material available to investigators.
