Man due in court in connection with fatal Dublin scrambler crash
The late Grace Lynch, who died after being hit by a scrambler bike in Dublin.
A man has been charged in connection with the scrambler collision that led to the death of a teenage girl in Dublin.
The man, aged in his late teens, was arrested in relation to this incident and has since been charged.
He is expected to appear before Blanchardstown District Court this morning, at the 10.30am sitting.
Grace Lynch, aged 16, died on Sunday after a crash involving a scrambler bike in Finglas.
The accident occurred on the Ratoath Road in Finglas at around 2.20pm.
In a statement, a Garda spokesperson said the girl, a pedestrian, was brought to Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown where she died from her injuries.
It is understood she was on her way to meet friends when she was hit by the bike.
Two teenagers on the bike were treated for “non life-threatening” injuries.
Gardai said forensic investigators examined the scene.
On Monday evening,large crowds gathered for a vigil, retracing a route walked by Grace on the day she died.
A crowd of friends, neighbours and locals gathered at Plunkett Green, where they released pink balloons into the air.
Her mother Siobhan Lynch thanked people for coming out for the walk, and said watching her daughter “take her last breath was the worst pain imaginable”.
