The lorry driver killed in a multi-vehicle collision in Meath on Monday morning will be laid to rest next Monday.

Wesley 'Wes' O'Reilly, from Loughshinny and late of Finglas in Dublin, was in his 40s. The incident also claimed the life of a Bus Éireann coach driver Paul Conway, who was in his 50s and from Tallanstown in Louth.

A mother in her 40s and teenage daughter are fighting for their lives in hospital.

The incident happened on the R132 in Gormanston at about 6.30am. It is understood that up to 12 people on the bus were also treated for their injuries.

A tribute posted on RIP.ie said Mr O'Reilly will be sadly missed by his mother Noeleen, his wife Nina, three children, as well as his extended family.

It said he will be reposing at his home on Sunday evening from 3pm to 5pm, with funeral Mass on Monday morning at 10am in St Maur's Church, Rush, Dublin.

Bus Éireann CEO Jean O’Sullivan said of Mr Conway: “We are devastated by this tragic incident. Our thoughts are with the family, friends, and colleagues of our Bus Éireann driver who has sadly lost his life, and with the family and friends of the driver of the other vehicle who also passed away.

“The loss of a colleague is a shock to everyone across Bus Éireann — our thoughts are very much with our colleague’s family, friends, and the many co-workers who are devastated at the loss.

“Our thoughts are also with the other driver’s family, with our passengers, and with the occupants of the third vehicle who have been injured and are receiving care in hospital."

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the collision to contact them, and have asked that any road users who may have camera footage, including dashcam footage, and were travelling on the R132 at Gormanston between 5.45am and 6.45am to make it available to gardaí.
