Man, 20s, due in court over €490k Limerick cocaine seizure
A man in his 20s is due in court today in connection with the seizure of €490,000 worth of cocaine in Co Limerick over the weekend.
As part of ongoing investigations targeting the sale and supply of controlled drugs, gardaí say they stopped a van in the village of Hospital on Saturday.
In the course of a search of the vehicle, gardaí discovered a concealment of suspected cocaine with an estimated street value of €493,920, as well as €3,000 in cash and a number of electronic items.
A follow-up search conducted at a residence in Castletroy saw a further €2,075 in cash and a small quantity of cannabis seized.
The driver of the van, a man is in his 20s, was arrested and brought to a garda station in Limerick city where he was detained under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act.
He has since been charged and is due to appear before Limerick District Court today.
