Four men arrested after €4.6m cannabis haul seized in major garda operation
More than 200 kgs of herbal cannabis was seized in an initial raid (PA)
Four men have been arrested following the discovery of more than €4.6m worth of herbal cannabis during an intelligence-led operation involving the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) and Revenue Customs.
Revenue officers seized 220kg of herbal cannabis on Friday, with an estimated street value of €4.4m.
Gardaí then carried out follow-up searches in south Dublin and Co Kildare, where they recovered a further 10.5kg of herbal cannabis worth €210,000, along with €10,000 in cash.
The four men, all aged in their 30s, were arrested during the operation and are being detained at garda stations in Dublin and Kildare under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007.
Gardaí said investigations are ongoing.
