Gardaí arrest one man as another man hospitalised after violent incident in Clondalkin

A man is in hospital with serious injuries and another in custody after a violent incident in Dublin this morning.

Shortly after 6.15am, local gardaí, the armed support unit, and emergency service personnel were called to a disturbance involving two men at St Cuthbert’s Court, Clondalkin. 

There, they discovered a man in his 20s with serious injuries.

He was treated at the scene and taken by ambulance to Tallaght Hospital. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

A hatchet and knife were recovered from the scene which has since been technically examined.

A second man, also in his 20s, was arrested at the scene and is being held under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act at a West Dublin garda station.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
