Man, 60s, in critical condition after discovered with serious injuries in Co Longford

A man is in critical condition after being found with serious injuries in Co. Longford on Saturday evening. 

Gardaí say they are investigating all the circumstances of the incident, which happened in Drumlish, at around 7.30pm. 

The man, in his 60s, was taken by ambulance to Mullingar General Hospital. His condition is being described as critical. 

A technical examination of the scene has since been carried out. 

A garda spokesperson said the last known movements of the man were at Currabawn at around 7pm on Wednesday, November 5.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the Currabawn/Mohill road, Drumlish area between 7.00pm on Wednesday, November 5 2025 and 6.30pm on Saturday, November 8 are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí.

"Investigations are ongoing," the spokesperson added.
