Pedestrian dies following collision involving bus on N7 motorway

The first incident happened between Junction 8 and 7 on the motorway going eastbound at Kill at around 3.30pm.

A pedestrian has died following a collision involving a bus on the N7 motorway in Co Kildare on Saturday afternoon. 

The incident happened between junction 8 and 7 on the motorway going eastbound at Kill at around 3.30pm.

The pedestrian, a man in his 30s, was seriously injured and taken to Tallaght University Hospital. He passed away later on Saturday evening. 

An autopsy is set to take place in due course. 

The road is currently closed for gardaí to carry out a technical examination of the scene. The road will remain closed overnight, and diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.

Gardaí are also appealing for any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) who were travelling in the area at the time of the collision to make this footage available to gardaí.

Separately, in Co Carlow, a pedestrian has died following a collision involving a car on Saturday afternoon. 

The incident happened at around 4.30pm on the R703 in Ballyroughan Big, Borris. 

The pedestrian, a man in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene. The coroner has since been notified, and an autopsy will take place in due course. 

The driver of the car, a woman in her 60s, was uninjured. 

The road remains closed overnight for gardaí to carry out a technical examination. Traffic diversions are currently in place. 

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area at the time are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí.
