Motorcyclist in his 60s dies after single-vehicle crash in Galway

The N65 at Kilcooley remains closed pending a technical examination of the scene by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

A motorcyclist has died following a single-vehicle collision in Co Galway.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the crash, which occurred at around 6.25am on Friday on the N65 at Kilcooley, Loughrea.

The motorcyclist, a man in his 60s, was taken by ambulance to University Hospital Galway, where he later died.

The N65 at Kilcooley remains closed pending a technical examination of the scene by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

Road users with camera footage who were travelling in the area between 6am and 6.45am on Friday are asked to make it available to investigating gardaí.
