Gardaí investigating death of man, 80s, found unresponsive on road in Sligo

Gardaí are investigating the death of a man who was found unresponsive on a road in Co Sligo on Monday night.

The man, who is aged in his 80s, was discovered unresponsive on the road at Church Lane in Enniscrone at around 11.10pm. 

He was pronounced deceased at the scene a short time later.

Gardaí say they are "investigating all the circumstances" surrounding the incident, and that that the results of an autopsy on the deceased will determine the course of the garda investigation.

Issuing an appeal for more information, investigating gardaí have urged any road users who were in the vicinity of Church Lane in Enniscrone between 10pm and 11.15pm on Monday night to come forward.

Additionally, anyone with camera footage who was traveling in the area at the time has been asked to make this footage available.
