Government to consider raising smoking age each year, says junior health minister 

Speaking during a debate on youth vaping and tobacco use, Jennifer Murnane O’Connor said she wanted to see the level of tobacco use among children fall to 0%.

The Government will consider raising the smoking age each year to outlaw younger people from buying cigarettes, a junior health minister has said.

Jennifer Murnane O’Connor, junior minister for public health, said the Government was revising its tobacco control policies.
