Woman, 30s, dies after crash between car and truck in Monaghan

A woman in her 30s has died following a crash between a car and a truck in Monaghan.

Gardaí were called to the scene on the N2 at around 2.45pm on Wednesday.

The car and truck collided at Castleshane, Co Monaghan, with the female driver pronounced dead at the scene.

No other injuries were reported.

The road was closed for examination by garda forensics and has since reopened.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward.

A spokesperson said: "Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 2:30pm and 2:50pm on Wednesday 10th September 2025, are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.

"Anyone with information is asked to contact Monaghan Garda Station on 047 77200, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station."
