RTÉ TV presenter and radio host Brendan Courtney was left "shocked" after a car ploughed into his home in Wicklow.

The host of The Keys To My Life had recently carried out renovations on his home.

In videos of the aftermath on social media, Mr Courtney shared videos of the aftermath of the incident on social media.

"I have literally spent my entire life savings on this house", he said.

He explained "a very nice old woman" ploughed into the front of this house.

"Smashed the wall. The wall flew across the street, smashed into my car, smashed into the house, and has done unbelievable damage," he said.

After the fact, he found footage on his Ring Doorbell app, and was left feeling lucky he was not near the front of his house.

The broadcaster and the woman who was driving the car are both OK following the incident.

"She's out, she's a lovely 84 year old woman. It was just a horrible accident and I'm so grateful to Lark Rock Builders who turned up like therapists, superheroes this morning and boarded up outside. I'm so lucky thank you," Mr Courtney said.
